Payment of Fees

The James Barney Childcare Centre (situated on Norman Way) is open from Monday to Friday 08.30 to 16.00 and our Swallowdale setting is open from Monday to Friday 08.30 to 15.30. Sessions can be combined to meet individual needs; however we require a minimum attendance of two sessions a week. We are closed during the school holidays and on statutory holidays; these days are not charged. We offer 3 weeks of additional sessions in the Summer for all the children and these are held at our Norman Way nursery.

Fees are payable in advance either monthly or termly. All fees are payable by bank transfer, childcare vouchers or Government tax-free childcare scheme. Late payment of fees will incur charges.

Government Funding

Eligible working parents of children aged 9 months onwards can now get up to 30 hours childcare per week, across 38 weeks of the year.

Existing offers also include 15 hours childcare for all 3 and 4 year olds and 15 hours childcare for 2 year olds for families using additional government support, Tax-Free Childcare and Universal credit childcare. Additional charges not covered by Government funding

The funding we receive is intended to cover the cost of high-quality, flexible childcare. This funding does not cover the cost of food, other consumables, additional hours and additional services; we therefore ask for a weekly additional charge to cover these costs.

Parents are asked to pay these charges as without this funding we are not able to provide the quality of care we strive to offer. If you are unable or unwilling to pay this voluntary contribution and choose to opt out you will be responsible to provide a list of all chargeable items.

The additional weekly charges not covered by the Government funding are

• £2 for low income families in receipt of 2 year funding
• £5 for all children aged 3 / 4 years in receipt of universal funding
• £10 for all children in receipt of extended funding for eligible working parents
• There is no additional charge for children who are not eligible for Government funding
